🌾 Rumah Tua Cooking Class – A Taste of Real Bali in Munduk.

Hidden in the lush green hills of Munduk, Rumah Tua Cooking Class invites you to slow down, breathe in the scent of cloves and coffee trees, and discover the warmth of Balinese home cooking.

Our family has lived in this traditional house rumah tua, meaning “old house” for generations. Now, we open our kitchen to share not only our recipes, but also our stories, traditions, and love for Balinese food.

Balinese Chicken & Vegetable SoupTender chicken and garden vegetables simmered in a light broth infused with Balinese herbs like lemongrass, galangal, and turmeric flavorful, aromatic, and mild for Western tastes. (Can also be prepared vegetarian upon request.)

Balinese Chicken Tum
Delicately minced chicken blended with aromatic Balinese herbs lemongrass, galangal, shallots, and kaffir lime, elegantly wrapped in banana leaves and steamed to perfection. Tender, fragrant, and subtly spiced for a refined yet comforting experience.


Balinese Vegetable Tum
A refined take on a Balinese classic, featuring finely chopped seasonal vegetables infused with lemongrass, galangal, shallots, and kaffir lime, gently wrapped in banana leaves and steamed. Aromatic, tender, and naturally flavorful, with a mild, sophisticated taste.

Satay Lilit

Tender minced chicken combined with fragrant grated coconut and authentic Balinese spices, carefully wrapped around lemongrass sticks and grilled to smoky perfection.

Uraban

Mixed vegetables tossed with fragrant grated coconut and Balinese inspired spices full of flavor, but gentle on the heat.

Vegetable

Loteng Jagung

An Indonesian corn fritter dish, it is made from a mixture of sweet corn, flour, eggs and various spices such as garlic, shallots, coriander and salt, the mixture is then deep fried untill golden brown and crispy.

Chicken Lemon Grass

Tender chicken pieces marinated and cooked with fragrant lemongrass, garlic, and a touch of citrus. Each bite is savory and aromatic, with a delicate balance of zesty, fresh, and slightly sweet flavors. Perfectly juicy and infused with herbs, it’s a fragrant dish that’s both comforting and vibrant.

Bregedel Kentang

Bregedel Kentang ( Indonesian Potatos Fritter) Crispy golden potato fritters, soft inside, lightly seasoned and full of comforting flavor.

Lawar

Tender chicken mixed with fresh vegetables, tossed in aromatic Balinese spices, coconut, and herbs. Each bite delivers a vibrant, savory, and slightly spicy flavor, with a perfect balance of freshness from the vegetables and richness from the traditional seasonings. A colorful, fragrant dish that captures the essence of Balinese cuisine.

Dessert on Option

Dadar Gulung

A traditional indonesian and balinese dessert often describe as a pandan flavored rolled pancake filled with sweet coconut and palm sugar. Dadar mean pancake and Gulung mean roll, reffering to how the pancake is wrapped around the filling.

Pisang Goreng

Pisang Goreng is Indonesian fried bananas, crispy outside and soft inside, often enjoyed as a Dessert or snack.


After the Cooking


When everything is ready, we’ll sit down together at our long wooden table, You’ll enjoy the dishes you’ve cooked yourself, a meal full of flavor and memories.


At the end, you’ll receive a small recipe booklet, so you can recreate the taste of Bali wherever you go.

Price: Approximately IDR 350,000 per person, depending on the number of participants.

Duration: About 2-3 hours

Schedule: Morning start at 10, 11 prepare for Lunch and afternoon start at 4, 5 prepare for Dinner
